Evansville CSI Chapter Board Meeting Minutes

A meeting of the Evansville Indiana CSI Chapter was held at 4:30 p.m. on March 10th. The meeting was held at the Executive Inn in downtown Evansville. The following topics were discussed:

1.1 Review of the existing and proposed changes of chapter by-laws as a result of the chapter’s move to become incorporated.

A. A motion was moved and seconded to amend the chapter’s by-laws. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
B. Amended By-laws are to be forwarded to the C.S.I. national office for
approval.

2.1 Review of the chapter’s articles of incorporation.

3.1 Chapter classification

A. The Evansville chapter is a non profit but not a charitable organization
B. Tom advised that donations made to the organization are not tax deductible as charitable donations

4.1 Great Lakes Regional Conference

A. Possible golf outing at Evansville Country Club

B. Need to determine speakers for Friday and Saturday of the event. Possibly use individual from historic New Harmony.

C. Current sponsorship is at $7500.00 with an additional commitment of $3,000.00 from other chapters thanks to Joe Schmidt.

D. Bus trip has been set to the New Harmony Granary and Athenium. Dinner at the Granary to be catered with menu featuring local fare to be determined at next meeting. Documentary of Granary reconstruction to be shown.

E. Door prizes for gala dinner

F. Jay Smith developing a binder for all who attend the conference

G. Event registration forms essentially complete and ready for website.

H. Mike Vannatter to compose invitation letter to be sent as part of e-mail blitz to prospects.

I. Addition to web page with possible links to the New Harmony web site, Evansville Convention and Visitors Center, and Casino Aztar

J. Planned review of all events including lunch on Friday

K. Identification of jobs and registration table

L. Incentives to get participation from local chapter members

5.1 Next meeting scheduled for Friday April 11th at 11:30 a.m. at Hafer Associates

6.1 Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
